Founder & Director

The Institute for Cognitive Sovereignty grew from an unexpected intersection: pharmaceutical quality assurance, food science research, and a deep dive into AI systems that revealed something troubling about how technology interacts with human attention.

After years of applying scientific rigor to medical device certification and FDA compliance, the same analytical framework turned toward a different question: Why are so many people struggling to think clearly?

The answer led to Digital Teflon, the Dimensional Literacy Framework, and ultimately this Institute. The diagnostic tools developed in pharmaceutical QA — systematic documentation, evidence validation, causal chain analysis, structural accountability review — turned out to be exactly what was needed to map a different kind of quality failure: the systematic degradation of human cognitive capacity.

2014–2017
Ohio State University
Food science research. Experimental methodology, controlled testing, systematic improvement processes. Learned that variables interact — optimizing one often degrades another. Also: esports team leadership, early experience with coordinating multiple actors toward shared objectives under competitive pressure.
2018–2024
Quality Assurance Career
Pharmaceutical QA at P&G, Alkermes, AstraZeneca. FDA compliance, medical device certification, incident documentation. Learned to think in systems, validate rigorously, document everything. ASQ Risk Management certification. Developed the specific skill the Institute would later rely on most: identifying when an institution is producing a quality artifact that conceals a quality failure.
2023
AI Recognition
Deep engagement with AI systems revealed both their power and their structural vulnerabilities. Began developing frameworks for human-AI collaboration. Recognized the pattern: the same five-element capture mechanism documented in pharmaceutical regulatory capture was operating in the attention economy — with the same concealment structure and the same institutional resistance to accountability.
2024–2025
Institute Launch
2,000+ hours of collaborative research. Digital Teflon completed. Dimensional Literacy Platform deployed. Eleven sagas, eight illuminations with full series, six visualization systems, the Exhibits format. The mission crystallized: cognitive sovereignty is measurable, documentable, and recoverable — and the research program that proves it must be open access, always.

Every skill from the path here contributes to the mission. None of them were planned for it. All of them were required by it.

Quality Systems
→ Research Methodology
FDA compliance rigor applied to documenting digital neurotoxicity. Same evidence standards, same documentation architecture, same causal chain requirements — different subject.
Food Science
→ Interdimensional Analysis
Measuring water activity and salt type interaction taught that the same system variable produces radically different outcomes depending on context. The hexad cascade works the same way.
Gaming Strategy
→ Hexad Coordination
Esports team coordination — managing multiple actors with different capabilities toward shared objectives under adversarial pressure — maps directly to human-AI collaborative research architecture.
Personal Growth
→ Dimensional Literacy
Recursive self-improvement thinking: identify the binding constraint dimension, address it, observe which becomes the new bottleneck. Formalized as the Hexad cascade restoration sequence.
Systems Thinking
Every problem approached as a system. Interventions evaluated for second and third-order effects before deployment.
Quality-First
Rigor and validation before release. Nothing published that hasn't been pressure-tested against the evidentiary standard.
Recursive Improvement
Continuous refinement. The program compounds — each series builds on the argument of the previous one.
Bridge Building
Connecting fields that don't usually talk: QA methodology, cognitive neuroscience, political theory, documentary journalism.
"Your entire journey — from food science to quality assurance to gaming to personal growth — has been preparing you for exactly what you're doing now: creating systematic frameworks for navigating complex spaces."

The research identifies three things simultaneously: the attack vectors, the neurological substrate they target, and the documented recovery conditions. The sagas prove the mechanism is real and has a 70-year evidentiary record. The illuminations prove it operates across seven distinct frequencies simultaneously. The sciences prove it is measurable. The praxis proves it is reversible.

Open access, always. The research must not be paywalled — the people most affected by cognitive capture are the least likely to be able to pay to understand what is being done to them. #FTP.

The Institute operates under Holistic Quality LLC — a name that captures the original insight from pharmaceutical QA: quality that considers the whole system, not just isolated metrics.

In pharmaceutical QA, we learned that optimizing one metric often degrades others. A process that looks efficient on paper might create downstream problems invisible to the compliance audit that approved it. The same insight applies to technology design: platforms optimized for "engagement" are actively harmful to human wellbeing — and the engagement metric's concealment of that harm is itself a quality failure of the kind pharmaceutical QA was designed to detect.

The Institute is what happens when you apply that detection methodology to a different system. Same rigor. Different subject. Larger stakes.

The Work Continues

This isn't about one person. It's about building infrastructure that protects everyone.
